Who Runs First Aid Exeter?

At its core, First Aid Exeter is a family run business that has been operating in the South West for the last 15 years. Originally based on Dartmoor in Devon, Indie Lyndale and her team of highly qualified instructors have taught 1000’s of people first aid. We now have a network of instructors operating in all major cities across South England

What Qualifications Do Our Instructors Have?

All instructors hold a current, First Aid at Work (FAW) qualification and have extensive first aid instructor training. This combines the HSE recognised first aid instructor training syllabus with a relevant teacher training qualification. This varies from instructor to instructor depending on their individual background but we pride ourselves on our team and their enthusiasm for what they teach. Our outdoor instructors all have practical experience working in the outdoors and have real life experience of first aid emergencies in remote locations.

Will I Get A Qualification?

All candidates completing a first aid course of 6 hours or more will receive a nationally recognised, accredited qualification that is valid for 3 years from the date you train.
As some employers and institutions still require externally regulated qualifications, we offer this as an extra on all of our courses. Should you wish for your qualification to be processed in this way charge an additional £15 per person which is the admin charge to us to process your certificate through the FAA (First Aid Awards)

What Venues Do First Aid Exeter Run Courses In?

We run first aid courses across all of Exeter, Plymouth and the South West.
We run first aid courses in various venues depending on your group size and requirements. As most of our courses are tailored to your exact requirements, often the venue we use will reflect this. For example some of our courses may involve a wilderness module so we will use a venue that can provide this.
We can also run first aid courses in your place of work to make things easier for you.
Let us know your requirements and we can accommodate.

Can I Do 1 To 1 Courses?

The smallest group we work with is 2 candidates.
This is to ensure you get effective training that you can use when it really counts. Having people in your group means we are able to set up scenarios for you to respond to.
If you are on your own and are looking to train in first aid we would recommend you join one of our already running courses.

Do I Need Any Prior Knowledge?

You need no prior knowledge. We are happy to teach first aid to anybody as this incredible skill can help you save lives. We get many return clients for refresher courses so if your certificate is up for renewal get in touch as we have great return client offers.

How Long Are The Days?

We run courses from 3 hours to 3 days.
If you are participating on a fully comprehensive first aid course. Each day will run for a minimum of 6 hours and a maximum of 8 hours.

How Long Does The First Aid Qualification Last?

All full day and above courses will provide you with a qualification that is valid for 3 years from the date you train.

HSE Training Requirements

As an employers it is now commonplace to have first aid trained staff. This is to guarantee a safe working environment for both your staff and your clients.
Depending on your business you can have very different first aid requirements so we have various first aid courses to choose form.
As of 2013 the HSE made changes that primarily put onus on the individual or employer to establish the most relevant first aid qualification for your particular environment and needs.
To establish the most relevant route for you or your business you should start with a risk assessment. This should highlight the most obvious areas of danger and from there the right course should be clear.
If you are unsure please get in touch and we will help point you in the right direction however we cannot provide legal advice and it will be up to you to make the final decision on which course you need.

All of our first aid courses comply with the latest guidelines from the Resuscitation Council UK and the European Resuscitation Council (ERC) Guidance on First Aid 2016.
We are fully qualified to provide accredited and regulated first aid qualifications. Should you require Ofqual regulated certification then we process your certificate through the FAA (First Aid Awards).
We teach varied, engaging content that is tailored to be relevant to your specific requirements and group.
We will continue to push the boundaries of exciting education with the use of new and innovative technologies.
