Health and safety law requires employers to provide appropriate first aid cover when working with infants and young children.
This comprehensive one-day Emergency Paediatric First Aid course covers a wide range of first aid emergencies and scenarios involving babies and young children.
By completing this syllabus, learners develop the confidence and practical skills needed to respond effectively in emergency situations. Our training is highly hands-on and scenario-based, allowing participants to practise their skills in realistic situations. We also cover incidents that may occur when taking children on outings away from the usual work environment.
Successful completion of the course results in an Emergency Paediatric First Aid qualification, which exceeds the statutory requirements of the Health and Safety (First Aid) Regulations 1981.
All of our instructors are highly trained professionals with real-world experience of emergency situations, bringing practical insight and expertise to every course.
Please note: for teachers and childminders, the six-hour, one-day Emergency Paediatric First Aid course only partially meets Ofsted and Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS) requirements. Where full compliance is required, the 12-hour, two-day Paediatric First Aid course must be completed. As both courses are run together, this simply involves attending a second day of training.
If you are unsure which qualification is required for your role, we recommend checking with your governing body or contacting us directly for guidance.
