Health and safety law requires employers to ensure appropriate first aid cover is in place when working with infants and young children. The most suitable qualification should be identified through a risk assessment of your specific working environment.
This two-day Paediatric First Aid course is designed for individuals who work with babies and young children. It is particularly relevant for teachers, childminders, crèche and playgroup staff, and anyone with responsibility for children’s welfare.
The course syllabus covers a wide range of emergency scenarios and practical skills, giving learners the confidence to respond effectively in first aid situations. Training is highly hands-on and scenario-based, reinforcing learning through realistic practice. We also consider incidents that may occur during outings and activities away from the usual work environment.
Successful completion of the course results in a nationally recognised Paediatric First Aid qualification, valid for three years from the date of training.
This two-day course exceeds the requirements set out by the Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS) and Ofsted.
All of our instructors are highly trained professionals with real-world emergency experience, which they bring directly into their teaching.
If this course feels more in-depth than you require, you may wish to consider our one-day Paediatric First Aid course instead. If you are unsure which qualification is appropriate for your role, please contact your governing body or get in touch with us and we will be happy to advise.
