First Aid for Mental Health
Mental health conditions can affect anyone—yourself, a colleague, a friend or a family member. Having trained individuals in the workplace who can recognise concerns and offer appropriate support is an essential part of a healthy organisational culture.
This course is suitable for all learners and is particularly valuable for employers seeking to promote a positive and supportive approach to mental wellbeing at work. It provides a comprehensive understanding of common mental health conditions and develops the practical skills required to respond appropriately when concerns arise.
On completion, participants can act as designated Mental Health First Aiders, serving as a trusted point of contact to support colleagues and guide them towards professional help.
Building on the four-hour Awareness of First Aid for Mental Health course, this programme introduces a structured Mental Health Action Plan, enabling participants to assess situations and provide effective support. The course also explores the impact of drugs and alcohol and supports organisations in developing a positive, informed mental health culture in the workplace.
