First Aid at Work Requalification course

The First Aid At Work refresher course is designed for those already holding a current First Aid at Work certificate that wish to renew their qualification.

By attending this 2-day (12 hour) first aid training course, this enables you to renew your 3-day First Aid At Work certificate by only attending the 2 days. Your new First Aid At Work qualification will be valid for 3 years from the date you train.

What This Refresher Course Covers

This course is designed for individuals who currently hold a First Aid at Work (FAW) qualification that is approaching its expiry date.

If you have completed the three-day First Aid at Work course, you can renew your qualification by attending a two-day requalification course, which reinstates your full FAW certification for a further three years from the date of completion.

Please note the following attendance requirements:

  • A valid FAW certificate must be provided prior to the course. This can be emailed to hithere@firstaidexeter.co.uk.

  • The requalification course must be completed no later than one month after your existing certificate expires.

Once a certificate has expired, you are no longer considered a legally qualified workplace first aider. This can leave your employer without adequate first aid cover, so we strongly recommend arranging your requalification before your current certificate expires.

Qualification

Your First Aid at Work (FAW) certificate is valid for three years from the date you complete the course. To renew your qualification, you must attend a further 12-hour First Aid at Work Requalification training course.

The FAW qualification is a nationally recognised and accredited award. At First Aid Exeter, we exceed the minimum standards required by the Health and Safety Executive (HSE) for first aid training providers.

In 2013, the HSE deregulated the first aid training industry, meaning externally regulated certification is no longer required. However, some specialist or high-risk workplaces may still require externally regulated qualifications. If this applies to your organisation, please let us know before booking and we will be happy to advise you.

Private Groups

We are happy to run any of our first aid training courses as private groups at either your venue or one of our training centres.
