Health and safety law requires employers to provide a safe working environment for their staff. Where a workplace risk assessment identifies the need for trained first aiders, the nationally recognised Emergency First Aid at Work (EFAW) qualification meets the requirements set out by the Health and Safety Executive (HSE).
This comprehensive one-day first aid course covers a wide range of emergency situations and first aid scenarios. It equips participants with the knowledge, skills, and confidence to respond quickly, safely, and effectively when an incident occurs.
Successful completion of the course results in an Emergency First Aid at Work qualification, which exceeds the statutory requirements of the Health and Safety (First Aid) Regulations 1981.
Assessment takes place throughout the day during practical, scenario-based activities and is designed to be supportive rather than stressful. If additional guidance is needed on any topic or technique, instructors will take the time to revisit it in more detail. There are plenty of opportunities to ask questions and discuss the course content as the day progresses.
